On an irregular basis, my Windows 7 laptop, for no apparent reason, stops connecting to the internet. I have two other computers connected to the same router that are still connected to the internet.

It’s just my Windows 7 laptop. They are all connected by wire – not wireless. Is there any way to stop this from happening? It’s doing it every couple days now and there’s no rhyme or reason that I can figure much like most Windows problems. It only started a month or so ago and has been happening more and more frequently.

Our IT guy has given up trying to figure out what the problem is – he says everything is working correctly and yet I’ve tried using the Network Troubleshooter, but like most troubleshooters.

I think it usually ends up on a generic Help page that says to restart everything computer, router, the internet Unfortunately, Windows and Office Help isn’t as helpful as it was 10 years ago you’d think it would be better not worse. I would suggest you to try all the steps from the following link: Why can’t I connect to the Internet? Hey guys I’m having a problem setting up an Ad-Hoc network as it seems that microsoft has disabled that feature on windows 8.
